Selling Tip: What Day of the Week is Best to List?

With so much competition on the market and so many web-savvy buyers, it’s important for sellers to capitalize on every potential advantage.

If you plan to list your home soon, you should consider some findings from the Redfin Corporate Blog. Their advice? List your home first thing Friday morning. In a study that involved over 1.2 million homes nationwide, their research indicates that homes listed on Friday are toured 19% more frequently and 12% more likely to sell within 90 days.

Why? Redfin suggests human nature as the cause – realtors (or buyers in general) typically wait until the last minute to schedule their weekend touring: Friday evening or even early Saturday morning. Naturally, they want to see the fresh meat first. So, listing your home closer to when they’ll actually see it naturally moves the home closer to the top of their list.

Although condition and price point are by far the biggest selling factors, it can’t hurt to explore every angle.
