Fort Collins Recreation

The area’s recreational outlets are so numerous and varied that the city of Fort Collins publishes a season recreational guide that’s over 100 pages long! The magazine chronicles little leagues, youth sports camps, adult leagues, and even adult educational series like CPR certification and First Aid training. Fort Collins has just about anything you can imagine: golf, horseback riding, mountain biking, cycling, swimming, ice-skating, aquatics, and leagues for team sports like soccer, baseball, and football.

With all of the available outlets, I suppose it’s no surprise that Fort Collins was voted the second best city in America to lose weight. Because recreational facilities are such a major priority for the residents, officials build fitness outlets into the city’s infrastructure. Fort Collins maintains over 280 miles of bike-access roads, manages over 20 miles of unpaved hiking trails, and has constructed more than 30 miles of paved pedestrian trails.

But perhaps you’re a sportsman. Along with some of the country’s best fly fishing, Northern Colorado offers hunting seasons for big game like deer, elk, black bear, and moose; medium game like sheep and goat, mountain lion, turkey; and small game like quail, sage grouse, prairie chicken and other types of water fowl.

Fort Collins is  a great place to live, work, and play. If you’re thinking about moving our way, give me a call. I’m happy to help.
