Fort Collins is a wonderful place to raise a family, attend college, pursue a career, and even retire.

The city seems to take permanent residence on “Top Places to Live” lists. From Top 10 Small Cities to Top 10 Best Places to Retire to Top 10 Places to Invest in Real Estate, Fort Collins ranks high on just about every index.  Publications praise Fort Collins for its recreational infrastructures, green technologies, public school performance, and much more. For a complete list of awards, see here.

Over the next few weeks, I plan to highlight various qualities of Fort Collins. Full disclosure – I’m biased. I’ve lived in the Fort Collins metro-area since 1996 when my family moved from New Hampshire. Now, I can’t imagine moving back. Once you’ve tasted the dry air, the mountain views,  the mild climate, and the Western culture in general, it’s hard to imagine living anywhere else.

Check back next week – I’ll report on the growing economic conditions of Fort Collins. Despite a sluggish national economy, Fort Collins continues to blossom. Both homegrown industries as well as large,  international companies are creating jobs, increasing the flow of capital, and committing to long-term partnerships with the city.
